St Lucia Zouks captain Darren Sammy after the match, “Of course, I would have always batted first. We did well with the bat, but they pulled things well with the ball towards the end. Many batsmen got starts but couldn’t carry on. We haven’t been able to string two good performances back-to-back. Especially when you play at home, you should be able to adjust to the conditions, but instead, we got taught a lesson by the opposition. Two must-win games and we need to come back stronger.”
Guyana Amazon Warriors captain Shoaib Malik after the match, “Every victory is important, especially when you’re on the road. Those are more important. We’ve got a lot of youngsters in our team, and they are hungry. They are always working hard. Important for set batsmen to bat deep. Credit to our bowlers too, they did well to pull things back towards the end. They would have got 180 at one stage, but we did well. (About not having a bad game yet) Not worried about anything, just telling the guys to give their best shot. We cannot control results.”
