BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly has been in news continuously, since assuming his office, for the various decisions he took for the welfare of the game. He was asked to name his fantasy eleven. Sourav Ganguly, who has captained team India and KKR in the IPL, picked a surprising XI. But, Ganguly also clarified that it is purely for fun purpose not anything that I want to debate over.
In a surprising move he picked young sensation Rishabh Pant over Indian and IPL stalwart MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni has been an icon in the IPL. He has helped CSK win three titles. Along with his captaincy on the field he is also world’s best wicket-keeper by some distance.
However, Dada, who was in an event in Kolkata, emphasised, “It’s purely for fun, to entertain all. Pant is a young wicketkeeper-batsman. I don’t want any debate for it,” that it is for he entertainment he brings to the game.
Sourav Ganguly has also mentored the youngster during his stint with the Delhi Capitals as a mentor. He supported the youngster to make it big in the International’s also after the latter’s superb show in the IPL.
Sourav Ganguly also picked the Indian duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli along with Australian duo of David Warner and Marcus Stoinis. He also picked Rajasthan Royals young spin all-rounder prodigy Riyan Parag and Jofra Archer. He also picked Ravindra Jadeja to partner Riyan Parag in the spin department. While Marcus Stoinis will be accompanied by Andre Russell, the big hitting all-rounder from West Indies. Jofra Archer is partnered with Jasprit Bumrah to take care of the fast bowling department.
