After a grand #Dream11 IPL 2020 that concluded yesterday with the finale between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) is planning to make the next edition grander and more special.
Yesterday the New Indian Express reported that BCCI is planning to organise the mega auction and has already informed the franchises to start preparing for the mega auction. The report added that the 14th edition of the tournament might see an addition of new team. As per the reports a corporate house is interested in making newly reconstructed Sardar Patel Stadium as its home ground for an Ahmedabad based franchise.
As soon as the news broke out, there were speculations over the name of corporate house that was interested in buying a team. But a tweet from journalist Rajneesh hinted that the South Indian filmstar Mohanlal and online education company BYJU’s might be the ones in the contention of buying the ninth IPL team.
FYI, the Malayalam actor Mohanlal had visited Dubai, marking his presence during the final between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. The South Indian filmstar Mohanlal was spotted in the stands in the match hours. Though it was a family trip for official records, his presence in the times of Covid-19 indicate more of a business meeting than amusement.
So there is more to what meets the eye in Mohanlal's Dubai visit for the IPL final.
Buzz is that Mohanlal, along with BYJU's, is bidding for an IPL team.
Nothing official so far though.

If a ninth team comes into scene, a mega-auction is all but on. With four months left for the next auction, this mega auction will be a grand one from franchises point of view. Last time franchises were allowed to retain three key players and two Right To Match (RTM) options going into mega auction.
