A sad news has been struck in the Bangalore camp as their skipper Manish Pandey will Going to miss the upcoming edition of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The defending champions Karnataka will be in a huge threat after listening this saddening news. According to TOI, Manish Pandey was recognized with tennis elbow on left arm when he was in the Australia for the limited over series which makes him rule out of the domestic tournament.
Right now the right handed batsman is undergoing rehabilitation in Bangalore at National Cricket Academy (NCA). Even the management and the NCA professionals has admitted that Manish Pandey have to be ruled out of the upcoming edition of the tournament. It is reported that around six weeks will be taken out to recover from this drastic situation.
His unavailablity will effect the Karnataka campaign, already the team is lacking with two star players like KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal as they are in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
In the recent concluded tournament of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Pandey scored 314 runs with two half centuries and one ton of 129 run not out. The team is now under the big responsibility of Karun Nair and Devdutt Padikkal.
Only good news, Karnataka is having the presence of pacer Prasidh Krishna who can now participate for the team as he is now fit after sustaining injury in elbow during the IPL-2020.
Fazal Khaleel, Head of senior selection committee is going to have a meeting regarding the squad members for the Karnataka camp.
The first match of team will be with Jammu and Kashmir which will be on 10th January at home ground and team is placed in the Group-A.
Now it will be interesting to see the defending champions will play the season with their absence of star players.
