After two memorable wins in the start of tournament, Rajasthan Royals seem to have crestfallen their last three matches. Their strong suit – Batting, which was looking ominous on the short boundaries of Sharjah, has nosedived on the bigger grounds ofAbu Dhabi and Dubai.
After being humbled by KKR and RCB in previous matches, Rajasthan Royals were buried into the ground by Mumbai Indians last night. Not only did their bowlers leaked and gifted runs, a no show from their batsman meant they slipped to 7thposition in points table.
Batting first, Mumbai Indian posted a huge total of 193/4 in 20 overs, with SuryaumarYadav, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya – all making significant contributions with the bats. Suryakumar Yadav played a magnificent innings of 79 runs off 47 balls, hitting 11 boundaries and 2 sixes in his knock.
In response, Rajasthan Royals lost opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, captain Steve Smith and Young-dynamite Sanju Samson early as they again failed to deliver the goods. Three wickets inside 3 overs meant, Rajasthan never recovered from the jolts and even a blinder from Jos Buttler (70 runs off 44 balls) couldn’t save Rajasthan from fate.
Eventually, Mumbai Indians bowlers bowled out Rajasthan Royals for 136 runs inside 19 overs. Jasprit Bumrah was pick of the bowler as he grabbed 4 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 overs.
After the loss, Rajasthan Royals had to face the fury of fans on social media also. But to make matters worse, Rahul Tewatia, spin all-rounder, also had to face the wrath of fans for indulging in a heated argument with umpire. The left-hander clashed with umpire after Mumbai Indians bowlers hurled bouncers at the youngster.
