On Monday, KL Rahul uploaded a still of him – holding a cup of coffee and sipping it with the mixed memories of past holding the same coffee cup. KL Rahul and Cup of Coffee together have many good and bad memories to go nostalgic about and who can forget the ‘KFK’ controversy that almost crashed his World Cup dreams.

After watching the still on KL Rahul’s official Instagram account, the fans started reminding him the KFK controversy as the comment section soon flooded with all type of comments.

Back in 2019, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya got into a big trouble for their controversial and misogynist comments on the TV show ‘Koffee With Karan’. During the chat show, the duo made some highly controversial comments about the team culture and girls, while answering the questions of host Karan Johar on the recorded show.

When the show went on air, KL Rahul was immediately banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), calling the duo halfway through the Australian tour. The controversy also threatened him to miss the flight of Cricket World Cup 2019. However, some good luck and the BCCI’s ombudsman gave them some respite by cancelling the ban just prior to  the World Cup 2019.

That time both KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya suffered a lot backlash for their appearance on the show. After all the saga, in the retrospect, they inculcated more discipline and changed to though process to regain the faith of fans.

And this time too, after watching the still, the fans did not back out from reminding KL the dreadful evening. Even the Indian captain hardly had a soft corner as he tried to pull the leg of KL by commenting- “Cup ganda hai.” But to everyone’s surprise, this time KL was upto the task as he quickly responded – “lekin dil saaf hain.”- to indicate his naive feelings this time round while enjoying the beverage.
