After a remarkable turnaround for five matches by Kings XI Punjab, they suffered two consecutive losses to get eliminated from the playoffs race. After looking good but unlucky for initial three weeks in IPL 2020, the Punjab based outfit was all but out of the race for playoffs before Universe Boss Chris Gayle turned another chapter in his record book.

The Universe boss didn’t played initial 7 matches due to team combination but once he got a chance in the playing XI, he made sure to encash everything. The KXIP came back in the playoff race with five back to back wins but couldn’t cross the last hurdle in CSK.

After winning the toss, MS Dhoni chose what has been working for them (to bowl first) but both Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul came hard at CSK bowlers as they duo added 48 runs inside 6 overs.

However, Lungi Ngidi had other plans as the pacer plucked out both Rahul and Mayank in short span to push KXIP on backfoot. Other CSK bowlers utilized and maintained the pressure created by Ngidi to block the run flow in middle overs before Deepak Hooda played a nice cameo at the end to take KXIP at 153-6 in 20 overs.

In a chase of paltry 154 run, CSK batters chased down the target with little fuss to win the match by 9-wickets. After the loss against CSK, the Universe Boss jokingly appealed the fans to keep watching IPL 2020 even though he won’t be on the TV screen.

“Plz continue to watch @IPL even though my season has come to an end. Thank you,” tweeted Universe Boss.

The hilarious tweet expectedly amused all the cricket lovers. The Iceland Cricket also enjoyed the tweet and trolled the West Indian star for the hilarious appeal.

“Dear India. I know it’s hard, but please at least try and show an interest in massively popular and successful tournament you’ve created, even though I am not playing in it this week. There are probably some other players worth watching. Maybe,” wrote Iceland Cricket taking a dig at Universe Boss.
