IPL has truly arrived and the extravaganza this time has a lot of new additions to cheer about. The IPL GC has already announced the schedule of the tournament and with the BCCI has come up with a thrilling news for the cricket fans.
As per the latest reports, BCCI’s plan of organising an IPL All-Star Game ahead of the IPL this year has been finalized and the contest will take centre-stage on Wednesday, March 25 at the renowned Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
After the IPL GC meeting, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had confirmed that an All-Star Game will be organised three days prior to the Marquee tournament for the charity purpose. Announcing many other updates and additions in VIVO IPL 2020, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had said, “It will be an IPL All Stars Game three days before start of IPL. The venue is not Ahmedabad as it is still not match ready. We have not decided on where we will make the donation.”
Now with the IPL schedule in place, BCCI has gone ahead with their plan of an All-Star Game. BCCI has planned to make two teams from the group of 8 teams in the IPL. The teams will be divided in North-East and South-West Zones.
While the North-East team will be picked from Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders, the four teams in the North Eastern part of India. The South West team will have players from the other four, i.e. Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, SunrisersHyderabad and Mumbai Indians.
The match is supposed to include stalwarts from the all 8-franchise of the IPL as MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli AB de Villiers, Rohit Sharma Hardik Pandya, Pollard and many other IPL and International stars will make their way out on the field together.
