Match summary of 32nd IPL : KXIP vs RR

Yesterday was 32nd match of IPL 2019 between KXIP and RR. RR won the toss and invited Kings XI Punjab to bat. KXIP batting line-up performed fabulously well. Both openers of Kings XI Punjab performed well. KL Rahul smashed 52 runs in 47 balls while Chris Gayle smashed 30 runs in 22 balls. After that, middle order of KXIP also performed well. Mayank Agarwal smashed 26 runs in 12 balls while David Miller smashed 40 runs in 27 balls. In the end Ashwin finished innings of Kings XI Punjab at score of 182 runs by smashing 17 runs in just 4 balls by hitting 2 sixes and 1 four.

Coming to batting RR also gave a good start to their innings but could not continue their momentum. Their first downfall came when Jos Buttler got out at a score of just 23 runs. This was huge blow to RR as Jos Buttler has been in fabulous form throughout the tournament but when time came he could not deliver.

Opener Rahul Tripath scored a smashing 50 runs in 45 balls before getting out.  Other players also played some good cameos but could not convert them into big innings. In the end, Stuart Binny smashed 33 runs in just 11 balls but still was able to take his team score to only 170 runs. KXIP won the match by 12 runs.

The other news from this match was the bad luck of Moises Henriques. He was set to make his debut in IPL yesterday but got injured just few minutes before the match. KXIP gave him the team cap but moments after that, he got an ankle injury and was ruled out of the match.

KXIP will play their next match against Delhi Capitals on 20th April in Delhi. Both Moises Henriques and Kings XI Punjab will be hoping that he makes his comeback in this match.
