From last some years, ICC has made a big change in test cricket now it will also play day-night test to attract more crowd because fewer people who want to watch test cricket. But some of the cricket Boards are not in favour to organize D/N test match. BCCI didn’t favour in the day-night test match, but newly appointed BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is in support of D/N test match. Indian Captain Virat Kolhi also agrees with this. Team India will play their next series against Bangladesh in next Month. In this series, Team India will play a test in day-night.
“Day-night Test is the way forward. Every country has to play D/N Test, that’s a long-term future for Test cricket. They (India) are a good side; they will win day-night Test matches also. There is no difference in D/N Test matches and day Tests. It’s just a different ball. They are such class players, they can win,” Ganguly told IANS.
“We will deal with it. It is too early for me to comment on how we will work on this, but let me take office and then we will discuss this with every member,” Ganguly explained.
“I must say that Virat Kohli is agreeable to it (For day-night test cricket). There are reports that he does not want to play day-night Tests which is not the fact. So once the captain of India is agreeable to it, life becomes a lot easier. We will see how we can push it. The game needs to go forward,” Ganguly said on Friday.
“We all are thinking about this, and we will do something about it. I am a firm believer in Day-Night Tests. I don’t know when will that happen. But till the time I am around, I will be pushing for it,” Ganguly added.
