The IPL T20 Carnival 2020 is less than 25 days away now. The players, franchises, IPL GC and BCCI has already chalked out all the plans. The posters are out, the social media is on high and the twitter is again chirping with the extravaganza fever. This time, the mega tournament will take place in the UAE in the wake of corona virus and the franchises have already reached in UAE to acclimatize their players.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team too arrived UAE on Friday and uploaded a team picture on their twitter account. The fans went crazy as soon as they saw team picture on social media – with everyone keenly finding skipper Virat Kohli behind the masks. But, to everyone’s despair Kohli was nowhere in the frame as fans repeatedly skimmed and scanned every face in the still. The absence of Kohli from picture soon raised a lot of eyebrows as social media flooded with a lot of question.
But Virat Kholi took everyone with surprise, when he posted a picture of him posing in the backdrop of UAE. Soon after, the same picture was posted by RCB on their account too. However, the question of Virat Kohli missing the team huddle in flight remained as it is.

But a little digging into the matter revealed that the RCB captain preferred a charter plane en-route UAE to make sure everyone remains safe and secure. Before flying to the UAE, the RCB players were instructed to reach Bengaluru for a short camp –where they quarantined themselves to enter the bio-bubble.
However, Virat Kohli couldn’t join the camp in Bengaluru as stayed back in Mumbai to quarantine himself in the Financial Capital. Knowing that it would be a risk to directly enter bio-bubble of the team, the skipper decided to go alone by a charter flight.
“He had quarantined himself in Mumbai and also tested himself for Covid-19. So, he could not come to Bengaluru. He flew alone by a charter flight from Mumbai,” a spokesperson of the franchise was quoted as saying by the news outlet.
Because of the prevailing pandemic situations, the BCCI has placed strict SOP’s for all players and staff members. All the players were tested before boarding to UAE and will again go under the tests three times in next 7 days before starting their training for mega tournament.
