After making a comeback in the test team, Umesh Yadav is continuously performing well. Along with the ball, Umesh Yadav is doing well with the bat also. He played some outstanding inning, during the last test against South Africa; he scored 31 runs in just 10 balls with the help of five sixes. In the next match against Bangladesh, Umesh scored 25 runs in just 10 balls with the help of three sixes.

After these two innings of Umesh Yadav, Indian captain Virat Kohli said that we can use Umesh as a pinch hitter in T20Is. He may bat at number three in shorter format.

“If say Hardik is not fit as an all-rounder to play overseas, even if you play with five bowlers and just one spinner plays, you know as a batting unit, along with a keeper, and that one spinner either Ash (Ashwin) or Jaddu (Jadeja) ever plays, your batting till seven and then Umesh the way he is batting now, he can probably bat at No.3 as well as a pinch hitter (chuckles),” Kohli told Boria Majumdar on the new show, India Today Inspiration.

Team India will play their next bilateral series against West Indies at home, this series will include three T20Is and three ODIs. The series will kick off from December 06 with the T20I series.
