Earlier BCCI announced their squad for West Indies series. India will tour of West Indies at the start of next month for three T20Is, three ODIs and two tests. The tour will begin from August 03. Today, West Indies announced their squad for first Two T20Is against India. The first T20Is of the series will be played in Florida USA on August 03 and 04. Carlos Brathwaite will lead the team.
Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine make their comeback in the West Indies team. They did not include in the windies world cup 2019 team. Kieron Pollard has last played for windies in 2018 against India while Sunil Narine played his last T20i match for windies in 2016 against England. Chris Gayle is not part of the squad because, during the world cup 2019, Chris Gayle said that he will only play ODIS series and the first test of the series after that he will retire from cricket.
Andre Russell returns in the team after the injury. He parted of West Indies world cup 2019 team, but after a few matches, he ruled ut from the team due to injury. So Russell now recovers from injury and back in the team. Carlos Brathwaite played some outstanding innings during the world cup 2019. So he should try to continue his form during this series.
Oshane Thomas and Sheldon Cottrell included as the fast bowling option. Sunil Narine will lead the spin bowling attack. Nicholas Pooran will be their wicket-Keeper batsman.
“This squad is an excellent balance of experience and youth,” interim chairman of the selection Panel Robert Haynes said.
