The year 2019 is about to end and with the year 2019 we also go past a decade that was filled with lots of drama, changes, emergence of certain forms of game and then taking precedence over all other forms. We witnessed the unexpected rise of T20 cricket in this decade, the origin of various T20 cricketing leagues the world over.
All these things changed the complexion of the games with batsmen becoming more dangerous, bowlers becoming cleverer, fitness becoming more important and fielding becoming one of the most required skillsets.
We were also fascinated by the three 50-overs world cups along with 4 World T20s. The fans saw India, Australia and England winning50 over-world cups on their turf. They also witnessed West Indies becoming the super power in T20 format. But, all these changes did not deter the importance of the One-day format. We came across quite a few remarkable performances with the bat and the ball in the last decade, which thrilled the fans to bits.
The Wisden has announced Men’s ODI Team XI Of The Decade.
The right and left hand pair of Rohit Sharma and David Warner will form the opening pair of the wisdom team. There is no doubt that no other opener comes close to Rohit Sharma for his record breaking feats in the limited overs cricket in the last decade. From champions trophy 2013 to recently conclude India-WI we have seen him majoring new heights as He scored 8186 runs in 179 ODI games. David Warner, on the other hand has made 4884 runs in 109 ODI matches.
At number 3, as they say there is one batsman who will walk directly in any XI, they have Virat Kohli, who scored 11040 runs in 226 ODI matches at an incredible average of 60.65.
Virat Kohli will be accompanied by AB de Villiers, undoubtedly one of the best limited overs batsman this decade witnessed, as he amassed 6485 runs in 135 ODIs.
England’s wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler also finds a place in the XI for his hard hitting prowess at no. 5. He has been phenomenal for England in the limited over setup scoring 3843 runs in 142 ODI matches.
Then comes the Mr. finisher MS Dhoni at no.6, he is an automatic choice for this role. He scored 5640 runs in 190 ODI matches alongside 170 catches and 72 stumpings.

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan takes the spot of all-rounder for his remarkable performance over the last decade. He has scored 4276 runs and picked 177 wickets.
In the bowling department, Wisdon has gone with four fast bowlers, undoubtedly world’s best fast bowlers over the decade. Lasith Malinga, Trent Boult, Mitchell Starc and Dale Steyn make the fast bowling quartet of the decade. While Malingapicked 248 wickets in 162 ODIs, Mitchell Starc has taken 172 wickets in 85 ODIs. New Zealand’s swing bowler Trent Boult claimed 164 wickets in 89 ODIs andSouth African speedster Dale Steyn took 145 wickets in 90 ODI games.
