In 2019, a legend who gave everything to his country had retired from every format of game that is Yuvraj Singh. He has been officially took retirement from the cricket, that doesn’t mean he left cricket, he has then also permitted to play global T20 leagues in Canada.
With the coming days of domestic tournament, Punjab Cricket Association has requested Yuvraj to come out of retirement to guide the young talent and nurture them so he eventually decided to get back to the cricket again.
It was also considered that he may take participate in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which will commence from 10th January 2021 and can play for Punjab.
In the suggested reports it was said that Yuvraj has requested to comeback in the cricket and letter was given to Sourav Ganguly which was taught to be rejected by the association. The reason isn’t disclosed yet thus making him still in the bunch of list in the retirement.
Yuvraj Singh has scored 1177 runs in 58 T20 international matches with amazing strike rate of 136.38 and 77 unbeaten is his highest score. He was one of the best all rounders of international cricket and also took 28 wickets will good figures of 3/17 at an economy of 7.06.
Punjab’s skipper will be Mandeep Singh
So now for the upcoming edition of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Mandeep Singh has been appointed as the skipper. It is officially announced by the association. He could be great leader and he has gained a good form in this season of IPL for Kings XI Punjab.
Out of seven matches he has scored 130 runs with a strike rate of 119.26 of highest score with 50 runs.
Some new players has been included in the list of team like Barinder Sran who last played under Chandigarh whereas Rohan Marwaha who had a good season in tournaments played at Ludhiana.
Punjab association has also appointed Munish Bali as the head coach and Manpreet Singh Gony as the bowling coach.
The team will start it’s season playing against Uttar Pradesh.
