Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the two most important player of the Indian Cricket team. When these two play well then India can easily win. There is always a lot of comparisons between the captain vice-captain duo. There have been calls for Rohit to take over as a full-time captain in the shorter formats.
In the absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma leads the team. Both players have found success as captains. But both players have backed their own players when they are leading the Indian Team.
- Vijay Shankar
Vijay Shankar made his International debut in the captaincy of Rohit Sharma during the Nidahas trophy 2018. he only played five matches under Rohit Sharma. But he got consistent chances in the ODI format under Kohli and he was selected for Team India’s squad for World CUP 2019.
Kohli rates him highly and once said, “Vijay Shankar brings in a lot to the team and hence, I am delighted to have him.”
2. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja has the regular member of the Indian team in all formats. Jadeja was backed to the tilt and given every chance of succeeding by MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli has carried that forward. But Surprising he didn’t get too many chances under Rohit Sharma. He played only three matches in Rohit’s captaincy. But under Virat Kohli, he plays regularly across formats. Rohit has led the T20I side, Jadeja has invariably found himself out of the team as well. Thus, Kohli’s backing of Jadeja has been way more than Rohit’s.
