South African batting legend AB de Villiers will be perhaps the greatest name playing the Everest Premier League, Nepal’s top establishment Twenty20 cricket rivalry. His blistering style has been always remembered by every fan and this is the thing which everyone loves the most.
There is no player like him who can be so dependable and attacking in the shortest format of the game.
De Villiers, additionally called Mr 360 degree for his batting misuses, has consented to join the competition which is scheduled from September 26 to October 9 later this year, after it was delayed in 2020 because of CoronaVirus pandemic.
“We are trying our best to bring top international cricketers for EPL to put Nepal in the frame of global cricket. We had tried to bring AB de Villiers previous season as well but he couldn’t be available. This edition he has agreed to be here. If nothing comes in between, he will be playing at the TU grounds for sure,” quoted by Aamir Akhtar, EPL Pvt Ltd Managing Director told to cricketingnepal.com
It isn’t sure which establishment De Villiers will play for yet his appearance to Nepal’s homegrown cricket is affirmed until further notice. EPL has six establishments and last season Pokhara Rhinos stood out as truly newsworthy reporting the appearance of Twenty20 cricket’s Universe Boss Chris Gayle.
“I think every franchise will run behind a player like AB de Villiers. We know other teams are also trying to get him like us. We are hoping to rope him into our franchise,” said Kishor Maharjan, owner of Lalitpur Patriots.
Bhairahawa Gladiators, Chitwan Tigers, Biratnagar Warriors and Kathmandu Kings XI are the other four establishments in the competition which has been drawing worldwide names from the subsequent version.
