The #Dream11 IPL 2020 has been a thrill to watch so far. Almost half of action is done and dusted. In 24 days of the action, we have had two super overs, few exciting chases, a lot of hitting, a couple of Tewatia specials, KKR pulling off heist, Delhi Capitals showing promise, KXIP failing to close out games and Mumbai Indians uncharacteristically topping the table mid-way in tournament.
Two of the most balance squads – Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are sitting at top of table with 5 wins in 7 matches and only net run-rate separating them. Surprisingly, this year RCB is another team that has won 5 out of their 7 matches to finish in top three at half-way stage.
With the tournament looking set for exciting finish, former Indian fast bowler Ajit Agrakar and former England spinner Graeme Swann have picked their playoff contenders.
Speaking on Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’ Agarkar unhesitatingly backed Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals to finish in top 2. However, he didn’t think RCB might finish in top four and backed KKR and either of SRH or RR to finish in top four.
“It’s such a close tournament, so many ups and downs, but clearly Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals look like the two best teams — form-wise and personnel-wise. KKR, in my opinion, got a real bonus win against CSK. They are my third team,” Ajit Agarkar said on Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’
“The fourth team for me is between Rajasthan Royals and SunRisers Hyderabad. I had CSK at the start of the tournament, but at the moment, these two teams look slightly better than what CSK is playing,” Agarkar added.
On the other hand, Graeme Swann backed both SunRisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals to make it in top-4.
“I’m definitely going with Sunrisers Hyderabad cause Jonny Bairstow not only looks dapper with his ginger hair and the orange shirt, amazing, it shouldn’t go, but it does, but he’s also smashing it,” Graeme Swann said.
“And my fourth team is going more with my heart than my head, Rajasthan Royals, Tewatia hit 5 sixes off that over and I fell for the Rajasthan Royals. They’ve lost all three games, they cannot get any worse. Ben Stokes is coming back. They are going to qualify,” he added.
Both SunRisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals have won three of their seven fixtures and are currently at 5th and 6th spot in the IPL 2020 points table respectively.
