After two worst test match against India, Steven Smith back into his hot form in the red ball cricket. In the third Sydney Test, he has scored 131 runs and 81runs in two innings creating pressure situation for the visitors to chase a big total. His 212 runs in the third test made him ahead of Virat Kohli in the ICC Test Rankings and eventually came to the second spot behind New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson.
Right now Williamson is at the top of Test ranking due to his heroic performance played against Pakistan by clean sweeping 2-0.
Other slots of ranking was Marnus Labuschagne who is still stable at the 4th spot in ICC Ranking whereas Cheteshwar Pujara’s building knock in the Sydney Test made him to jump from 10th spot to 8th spot.
Phenomenal knock by Indian Wicket keeper Rishabh Pant who scored 97 in the Sydney Test made him to reach at 19th spot from 26th spot. Pakistani skipper Mohammad Rizwan came to the 37th rank in the ICC Test Ranking whereas Azhar Ali total of 130 runs in the two innings helped him to reach at 18th spot.
With this performance by the batsman in the red ball cricket managed them to reach to new ranks while Virat Kohli’s absence in the Border-Gavaskar Series made him to lose his spot and came to the 3rd spot of the ICC Men Test Ranking.

Talking about the bowling unit, with tremendous performance of 11 wickets in two innings by giving just 117 runs made New Zealand bowler Kyle Jamieson to stand on the 21st spot in the ICC Test Bowling rank whereas Josh Hazlewood’s lethal bowling attack in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy made him to reach at the 5th spot respectively.
