This year is going to be full of entertainment for cricket fans. Everyone is enjoying the most glamorous league of cricket – IPL right now. After IPL ends the ICC cricket world cup 2019 will start in England where world’s top 10 cricket team will participate to win the championship. Out of these 10 teams, 8 teams have directly qualified in world cup and 2 teams qualified through world cup qualifier tournament – Afghanistan and West Indies.

Even before the IPL, there has been curiosity among cricket fans and media about Team India squad. Indian players are trying to perform their best in IPL to get attention of selectors so that they can be selected in Indian team squad for world cup.

As we reported earlier that team India squad for world cup will be announced on or before April 20th.  The Indian cricket team for World Cup 2019 is going to be announced on 15 April in Mumbai, according to ANI.

India will play their first match against South Africa on June 5, 2019. The main question which selection committee will face will be the batsman for the number 4th position. According to the survey we conducted in our previous article, Yuvraj Singh has been the favorite choice of readers for no. 4th position in Team India squad, followed by Rishabh Pant. Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Raydu are at 3rd position with almost equal votes.

Yuvraj Singh coming at no 1st position can be attributed to his mass fan following. But selectors have to consider various things in mind before making any decision including future of Team India. Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting believes that the young wicket-keeper rishsbh pant is best suitable for number four position. “I would be picking him in the Indian team as the batsman for No.4 as he can win you the game with his talent” Ponting had said.

Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma has already said that the squad will be selected on basis of conditions. He also said that the opinions of Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli will be taken before picking the squad. Rohit said “I think we are pretty much settled. There are a few spots (undecided) which everyone knows about but again that depends on what the captain and the coach and the selectors think whether they want to go for the extra seamer or the extra spinner or extra middle order player or a reserve opener. It also depends upon the conditions. The last time we were in England, the conditions were quite dry. I don’t know how things will be. So if it is like that than you take an extra spinner, as simple as that. If it’s not then probably take the extra seamer”.
