With the start of cricket after a long delay due to the outbreak of COVID-19, BCCI is likely to maintain a phase of hectic cricketing schedule in the year 2021. With this agreement, it might be seen that Indian Team won’t be in the list of playing Asia Cup 2021 which will be hosted by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) in June 2021 which will be played in their own backyard that is Sri Lanka.

The reason to exclude playing Asia Cup is due to the unfortunate delay taken out in 2020, so to cover the postponed matches in this year and it is also seen that may be the final of World Test Championship could be have a clash with Asia Cup also. As the final of World Test Championship will be played in Lord’s Cricket Ground in the month of June-2021 at England.

And if talking about other asian teams, they are almost out of the competition whereas India is still in the hunt.

Right now the points table of Test Championship is with at apex position with Australia having 332 points with 73.8% ahead of India who is at second spot with 400 points and 70.2%. The other spots are filled with New Zealand with 70% and England with 65.2%.

Broadcasters are disappointed with the decision taken by BCCI over Asia Cup.

Due to COVID-19, Asia Cup was postponed and rights was conducted in 2021 whereas Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also exchanged the hosting rights with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) . With exclusion of Indian Team from the Asia Cup will definitely produce a huge loss for the Broadcasters as it will also lead to cancel of most thrilling match of India & Pakistan.

It will catch up a loss in the revenue drop so to compensate the loss, broadcasters will think for bilateral series and New Zealand series before ICC World T20 Cup.
