Throughout the most recent couple of years, numerous wicketkeepers have shown honourable exhibitions at the homegrown and worldwide levels. After MS Dhoni declared his retirement in August a year ago, there is a requirement for a perpetual wicketkeeper for group India.
There is no denying of reality that Rishabh Pant has procured the adoration for cricket fans and selectors with his exhibitions during Australia and England arrangement. Be that as it may, there are other wicketkeeper batsmen too who have a ton of ability.
VVS Laxman said that Sanju Samson, KL Rahul, and Ishan Kishan are some acceptable decisions for wicketkeeper-batsman yet feels that Rishabh Pant is the most ideal decision for the opening.
“India is spoilt for choices. The way Sanju Samson has batted, kept and led Rajasthan Royals (in ongoing IPL), even though he did not have too much of experience (in captaining) a side. Then there’s Ishan Kishan. K L Rahul has done well whenever he got the gloves, and batted either top of the order or in the middle”, quoted by VVX Laxman.
“But somehow I just feel Rishabh Pant is the player whom you should pick for the wicketkeeper-batsman slot. I will definitely go for Pant. Not only that he’s really improved and impressed everyone with his keeping abilities, but as a left-handed batsman, he’s someone who can take away the game from any opposition in any situation in the middle overs,” added by him.
While Rishabh Pant is unquestionably driving the race for the wicketkeeper batsman’s space, IPL 2021 will assume a significant part in the determinations of players for ICC T20I World Cup 2021.
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has crushed a century (51) in IPL 2021 up until this point. Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson hit a brilliant century against Punjab Kings.
