Brad Hogg, the veteran china-man bowler from Australia, has named the batsman who can hit the first ever double century in T20Is. China-man bowler, who represented Australia for a career spanning over 18 years, was very unfortunate to born in the era of great Shane Warne. Had he born in this era, he would have been one of the greats of all time for sure.
Sometime back a double century in ODIs also seemed impossible. But the last decade saw the game reaching to new heights as the batsmen became more fearless and pitches becoming much flatter and helpful for batting. As many as 8 double centuries were scored in ODIs last decade with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar setting the trend and his successors Virendra Sehwag and Rohit Sharma taking it to unimaginable heights.
Though a T20 double century has kept eluding everyone till now. At present, the Universe Boss Chris Gayle holds the record for the highest score in a T20. The West Indian scored a blistering 175 not out against the now-defunct Pune Warriors in the Indian Premier League. On the other hand, in Internationals, Australia captain Aaron Finch scored a record 172-run against Zimbabwe.
But, the former Australian Spinner Brad Hogg believes that the hit-man Rohit Sharma can achieve the feat of first ever double centurion in T20 Cricket. In an interaction with fans in twitter, Brad Hogg wrote, “Rohit Sharma at presently is the only player I think capable of it. Good strike rate, all timing, and plays cricketing shots finding six options all around the ground,” replying to a question- “Hogg who do you think will be the first to make a T20 double-hundred?”– from his fan.

Rohit Sharma has been one of the most consistent limited overs players over the last 7-8 years. The dashing batsman from Mumbai stands shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Virat Kohli and others in limited overs cricket. Everyone is well known ofRohit Sharma’s penchant for playing big innings in limited-overs cricket and there is no denying on his day he can crash any record with his hitting prowess.
