In a welcome news for Chennai Super Kings and its fans, Dwayne Bravo has been declared fit and in consideration for Chennai Super Kings today’s match against Delhi Capitals.
Dwayne Bravo, the all-rounder from Trinidad, has been a vital cog in CSK success in IPL over the years. While his lower-order hitting has been a plus for CSK, it’s his credible death bowling that has earned him respect World Over. Bravo has picked up 147 wickets at 8.40 per over in 131 innings in IPL so far.
Bravo missed a couple of CSK’s initial matches in IPL 2020 due to a niggle that he carried from Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020. In his absence, CSK has resorted to Sam Curran and Lungi Ngidi for all-rounder’s role and death overs bowling respectively. However, Ngidi has been quite expensive at the death for CSK in their previous game.
A tweet from Late Dean Jones read: Fleming (in CSK website) said “We are hoping Rayudu returns to the side against SRH on October 2nd & Bravo has been training for last few days so he will be in consideration for the next match”.
Already missing out on Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina, it was quite a challenge for the management to fill in for two injured players – Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo. After missing out on the game against RR, Ambati Rayudu will miss this game also. This means, Rayudu’s replacement – Rituraj Gaikwad is set to get another chance in playing XI.
Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings, recently had given an update on Ambati Rayudu’s injury. “Nothing to worry about. He has the hamstring injury, but will at worst miss one more game. But you never know, he might be fit in time for that game,” Viswanathan had told ANI.
Later in the day, CSK will be up against Delhi Capitals at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on Friday. Like CSK, Delhi Capitals has also started their journey on a winning note and it will be a battle of Youth Brigade vs Daddy’s Army.
