Gasp strolled in when India were four down for 80 in the 38th over. With a settled Rohit Sharma close by, the pair facilitated to a 41-run remain before Ben Stokes struck another, at the stroke of beverages break as the opener withdrew for one shy of his 50 years.

With the offie parting with 19 in his four-over spell, Root returned to Jack Leach, yet Pant, detecting England’s cheeky beginning in the last meeting, changed on it to indent up his third fifty or more score in the arrangement, arriving at the separate 82 conveyances with a bump through mid-on.Root at that point went to Stokes, nothing made a difference to Pant who looked resolved to heap more tension on the guests before they the appearance of the second new ball.
He toped-edged a widish ball from Stokes over the slips for a limit and afterward levelled the scores with another off the all-rounder with a draw over mid-wicket.
