West Indian batsman Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss had recently played for Kings Xi Punjab in the IPL 2020. Though he has played on seven matches of the tournament, yet he kept his form with terrific ability. Furthermore, it is reported that Chris Gayle has pulled out his name from the inaugural edition of Lanka Premier League which begins from 26th November. It was in the likes that Chris Gayle might join with Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel and with the local player like Kusal Mendis, Nuwan Pradeep and Kusal Perara for Kandy Tuskers, But recently it is confirmed that he is not joining the squad. While it is also said that England pacer Liam Plunkett is also named to this franchise.

It is well known that Chris Gayle is the most destructive and iconic player of the shortest format. He is also the most experienced player in the T20 Format. His elegance in batting always been in the destructive form, whether it is any international format or any league matches.  He chattered 13584 runs in just 411 matches with an average of 38.26 of having elegant strike rate of 146.72.  Chris Gayle had smashed 22 centuries in just 411 games of having the highest T20 individual score of 175*.

Although having this kind of form, still he only played last 7 matches in the IPL2020 for Kings XI Punjab which was used to be the topic for discussion. It is said that if Gayle played more matches for Punjab then the results might be opposite of what they got. Gayle smashed three destructive fifties in just 7 games. Universe Boss is that guy who never disappoints his fan, always used to entertain his fans and team by his positive attitude but this time, it would be disappointing to miss Chris Gayle out of the inaugural edition of LPL  2020.

“We are sad to announce that Chris Gayle will not playing for us in this year’s @LPLT20_,” announced by Kandy Tuskers through their official twitter account.

In the inaugural edition of Lanka Premier League 2020, Five franchises are going to take part named as Jaffna Stallions, Columbo Kings, Kandy Tuskers, Galle Gladiators and Dambulla Hawks. These 5 teams will compete for the maiden edition of LPL2020. It is confirmed that Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota will host all the games of LPL2020. The inaugural match of the maiden edition will start from Columbo Kings taking on Kandy Tuskers. The LPL will end on 16th December 2020.
