Punjab Kings batsman Chris Gayle has removed himself from the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) leaving the IPL bio-bubble because of strict protocol exhaustion.
It just so happens, the veteran batsman has been a part of several b bio-rises as of late having played for West Indies and in the as of late closed Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
In an assertion delivered by Punjab Kings, Chris Gayle expressed that he needs to go on vacation in advance of the impending T20 World Cup, booked to initiate on October 17 in the UAE and Oman.
“Over the last few months, I have been a part of the CWI bubble, CPL bubble followed by the IPL bubble, and I wish to mentally recharge and refresh myself. I want to refocus on helping the West Indies in the T20 World Cup and would like to take a break in Dubai. My thanks to the Punjab Kings for giving me the time off. My wishes and hopes are with the squad always. All the very best for the games coming up,” stated by Chris Gayle.
Chris Gayle has addressed Punjab Kings in 10 matches this season scoring 193 runs at a strike pace of 125.32.
Punjab Kings head coach Anil Kumble, who has seen Chris Gayle from tight situations, expressed that as an establishment they regard his choice.
Punjab Kings, who are as of now 6th in the points table will play Kolkata Knight Riders next on Friday in Dubai.
“I’ve played against Chris and have coached him at Punjab Kings and all through the years I’ve known him he has always been an absolute professional and we as a team respect his decision and desire to prepare himself for the T20 World Cup,” said by Anil Kumble.
