The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has got off to a brilliant start in the ongoing edition of the IPL. They have defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match of IPL 2019. In the second match they defeated Delhi Capitals (DC).
CSK has been playing with only three foreign players in the team. Lungi Ngidi‘s injury has already made their bowling weak. Now, there is a new concern for CSK. David Willey the English fast bowler arrival in CSK squad has been delayed. David Willey wife is giving birth to his second child. According to Daily Mail, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming has given permission to the cricketer to stay with his family. It remains to be seen when Willey will join the team. The reports also said that the arrival of Willey’s second child has been delayed as the due date has already passed out. This adds even more doubts on the cricketer’s participation in this edition.
CSK has to play their next match against RR on 31st march. Under these circumstances with Ngidi being injured and no assurance of David Willey joining the squad, CSK fast bowling department looks weak. David Willey will have to return to England with his other English companions for preparations for world cup on 25th april. So ultimately he would be able to play in just 8 matches of IPL. If he delays his arrival more late then it may happen that CSK would not allow him to play in IPL.
Foreign players of CSK are performing very well in IPL 2019. Shane Watson got the man of the match award playing against DC. It has to be seen if David Willey joins the IPL would he perform as good as other foreign players.
