BCCI has named Navdeep Saini as a replacement for Deepak Chahar for the final ODI between India and WI at Cuttack. Deepak Chahar complaint of Lower back pain after the second ODI at Vizag after which he was suggested rest by BCCI medical team.
“Deepak felt mild pain in his lower back following the second ODI played in Vizag on Wednesday,” the BCCI stated in a release on Thursday (December 19). “The BCCI medical team examined him and has suggested that the fast bowler needs some rest in order to fully recover. He has thus been ruled out of the final ODI”.
Saini has not represented India in One Day Internationals till now. However, he has represented India in 5 T20s claiming 6 wickets at the average of 22.83 and economy of 8.06. He last represented India in the home T20 series against South Africa before injury ruled him out the Bangladesh T20s.

He has a reputation of express fast bowler who can rush the batsman with his pace. He will be the third seamer alongside Mohammad Shami and Shardul Thakur in the squad. The third and final ODI between India and West Indies takes place on Sunday (December 22).
West Indies has been in India for some two months. They first played a full series against Afghanistan at Lucknow. They played 3 ODIs followed by 3 T20Is and a test match against Bangladesh. While WI took the honours of winning ODI series Afghanistan clinched T20 series. One-off test between the nations was won by West Indies.
Now, they are locking horns with India. The last match of the 3-match ODI series will be played on Monday. With the series on line the match is expected to be a thriller. Both teams stand at 1-1 currently. India won the T20Is by 2-1.
