With the ongoing IPL, BCCI Selectors are looking for willing and prominent players who can be a backup spot for the squad members for the upcoming tournament that is T20 World Cup 2021.
BCCI is looking very accurately in each and every aspect to clean up a better and prospective team for the mega event. So they are keen to add a few players as a net bowler for the Indian Team to cover up some players.
In the meantime, Cricbuzz understands that the selectors are considering having Harshal Patel, Venkatesh Iyer and Shivam Mavi to help the preparation of the Indian Team. A few of them, if not every one of the three, could be approached to remain back in Dubai, where the Indian players are in a quarantine now.
The directions will be transferred after Monday’s Eliminator so that the player(s) won’t leave the bio bubble and on second thought move starting with one air pocket then onto the next.
Concerning the change to the World Cup crew, the BCCI has time till October 16. It has been affirmed to Cricbuzz that the sides can change seven days before the beginning of the stage they play in. As the Super 12 phase begins on October 23, for which India has had direct capability, the BCCI can make changes till October 16. October 10 was the cutoff time for the groups playing in the first round, which begins on October 17.
As recently revealed, the destiny of Hardik Pandya also remains in a precarious situation, with any semblance of Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar filling in as choices in case Hardik isn’t fit to bowl.
