At the end of day three, England have taken 382 runs lead and still, two wickets left. They have a good chance to draw the series by winning this test because Australia are leading the Ashes by 2-1 and they already retain the Ashes. Australia need a miracle with the bat to win this test.
Again Steve Smith needs to take responsibility and can play a big inning, but other batsmen need to step up. Jonny Bairstow had fool steve smith when he was batting now again Bairtow fools him while Jonny was batting. First with the ball and now with the bat.
Steve Smith reacts to Jonny Bairstow’s fake run-out attempt, “He got me there, didn’t he? Dirtied my clothes. He didn’t say anything, I don’t think, but he got me. I didn’t know where the ball was. Bloody thing, faked it. He got me. I don’t know what else to say,” Smith said.
Here the Video
Jofra Archer about Steve Smith
“He didn’t look as nailed on as he usually is,’ said Archer. Told of Smith’s ailment, he replied: ‘Fair enough. I knew there was something. It’s weird, Every time he bats, I don’t know what it is – he literally cannot get out.”
“If he plays a bad shot, the ball just lands in no-man’s land. He’s a good batter, and he’s got a good temperament, but the ball just never goes to hand.”
Smith said, “I felt pretty good at the crease, but I’ve been struggling a bit with the flu and was loading up on the meds and tried to stay as focussed as I could be.”
‘Unfortunately, I couldn’t bat with the tail as long as I would have liked.
‘But we’re only 75 runs behind, and teams have won from this margin before.’
