Former England captain Michael Vaughan has believed CSK should hope to fabricate their group around star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja once MS Dhoni is prepared to hang up his boots.
Vaughan’s remarks come after Jadeja turned a match around with the ball for CSK against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
The run-pursue was going at a consistent rate with Jos Buttler building an association with Shivam Dube. However, Jadeja in the twelfth over got a delight of a conveyance to excuse Buttler. In the equivalent over, he disposed of Dube and put Chennai in the case seat. After this, the run-pursue imploded.
Jadeja further proceeded to take four tremendous catches in the match also, some of which were on the limit.
As per Vaughan, Dhoni probably won’t play following a few years. The CSK captain is required to resign after the finish of the IPL 2021, however the establishment CEO had supposedly uncovered that Dhoni could proceed in the position of authority for the following season too. Vaughan said Jadeja’s attitude as a cricketer can permit the establishment to work around him. He said that his game in every one of the three aspects is very acceptable.
“You may say that Dhoni will play for 2-3 more years but let’s be honest, he’s not gonna play a great deal after that. So you’ve got to start looking at who you can build a team around and to me, Ravindra Jadeja is the kind of cricketer that I would build my team around. I just think he’s that good with the ball, in the field, with the bat in hand, his mindset, his mentality is very good,” said by Vaughan while having an interaction chat with Cricbuzz.
“Jadeja for me is the kind of player to whom you can say ‘You’re gonna bat at No.4 or 5, get in there early. We might even open the bowling with you, depending on who is batting. We’ll put you in key fielding positions.’ He is ready for that. I think he is that good a cricketer,” added by him.
Even he noticed that there are discussions that Chennai could hope to fabricate their age group around Sam Curran.
Vaughan lauded the youth from Surrey yet in addition communicated that he is as yet youthful and may not be prepared for the test yet. He said he can take the test perhaps four or five years from now.
