Ravichandran Ashwin, Indian Test spinner and one of the Iconic spinners in IPL, is one of the wittiest consumers the game has ever witnessed. The Tamil-Nadu off-spinner made a name for himself through Indian Premier League and went on to represent India.
In his illustrious career, the Off-Spinner has been under the pump many times, but the willy spinner has developed and evolved himself to come on top time and again. This is the reason, Ashwin has managed to keep his career economy-rate under 7 even the shortest version of the game.
In IPL, Ashwin has an economy-rate of 6.79 runs per over with 125 wickets in 136 innings of IPL. Whether it’s bowling in Power Play or run-chocking in middle overs or the damage control in death overs, Ashwin has done everything to set himself a class apart in Indian Premier League.
Recently, during an Instagram live session, Ashwin was asked to name the toughest opponent he has ever faced. Surprisingly, Ashwin named his long-time ally and former captain MS Dhoni as the toughest opponent to face in T20 Cricket.
“Toughest batsman to bowl to in T20, I always rate MS Dhoni to be one of the greatest T20 batsmen, especially towards the end,” Ravichandran Ashwin said during an Instagram Live session.
He also hailed MS Dhoni as one of the greatest Indian captains. “MSD one of the greatest captain India has ever seen, one of the greatest captains IPL has ever seen,” added Ashwin.
Both MS Dhoni and R Ashwin were all set to represent their respective franchises in IPL 2020 but the CORONA-pandemic has put the world on halt as of now.
