The Defending Champions Mumbai Indians will definitely look to continue their triumph towards the 14th edition of IPL as well. They are looking to retain the cup for the third consecutive side and it is also well known that there franchise consists of world’s best players.

Ahead of IPL-2021, they had released seven players from their squad including the retirement by Sri-Lankan legend bowler Lasith Malinga. So with these releases, Former Indian Cricketer Aakash Chopra reckons that franchise will look to buy those players who can put more intent in the bowling department.

“The interesting thing is that the Mumbai Indians have changed their entire fast bowling attack. Malinga has retired, they have let go of Pattinson who was his replacement and they have let Nathan Coulter-Nile and Mitchell McClenaghan also go,” Quoted by Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel.

He also thinks that team could buy Mitchell Starc to strengthen the pace unit along with Jasprit Bumrah.

“They can buy Pattinson again but he was very cheap, so they probably have someone else in their mind. Kyle Jamieson, Jhye Richardson, Chris Morris and Sheldon Cottrell are available. I don’t see a very big exciting name. They might take back Nathan Coulter-Nile because he was very expensive” added by Chopra.

He also thinks that the franchise also need a spinner in the squad and one all rounder who can be perfect back-up for Kieron Pollard. With the likes of Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Krishnappa Gowtham can fill those loopholes whereas for all rounder slot Shakib Al Hasan and Cameron Green can be there in the auction.

“They might be interested in Shivam Dube as he is a Mumbai boy. They might want to take him as an all-rounder although their Indian batting department seems absolutely fine to me. They will not be running behind too many Indian players” added by Chopra.
