The injury blow again continues in the Indian Campaign, as from that Australian tour to now England series, the tale of concern over injury has began. This time debutant Axar Patel has been injured just before the commencement of the first Test against England played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. He has sustained knee injury and has reported to BCCI on 4th February(Thursday).

In the absence of Axar Patel, standby players Rahul Chahar and Shahbaz Nadeem has been included in the squad.

It is a bit of concern for the Indian campaign as they already don’t have the services of all rounder Ravindra Jadeja who has sustained thumb injury in the Border-Gavaskar Series and now debutant Axar Patel was included to replace him but with his injury Men In Blue will be in more trouble situation to exaggerate the playing XI.

“The reason was basically to have someone very similar to Ravindra Jadeja’s skillset, which Axar Patel brings in, in al three departments of the game” stated by Indian Skipper Virat Kohli.

“That was the reason behind picking him. That falls directly into our plans. Because Jaddu was not available, Axar was preferred because he brings in the same kind of discipline “ added by Virat Kohli.

Now it will be interesting to see how the head coach Ravi Shastri and Indian Skipper Virat Kohli will create a playing XI in the Chennai Test for the international comeback home  series.
