After the successful conclusion of the 13th edition of IPL, now BCCI is marching towards another action packed season within a few span. Even the mini-auction of the 14th edition had also concluded successfully. Every team has bought the players for which they were extremely needy. The highest bid player of the Indian Premier League 2021 is Chris Morris who gets sold to Rajasthan Royals for a whooping amount of Rs 16.25 Cr followed by Kyle Jamieson to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 15Cr.
With the conclusion of the auction, now it is aimed that the next season will commence from 9th April 2021 to 30th May 2021. The season header will start with the finalists of the 13th IPL that is Defending Champions Mumbai Indians to face Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Every franchises is heading to start their training session with immediate effect as less time is left out for the most anticipated season of IPL. Chennai Super Kings became the first team to reach in Chennai to initiate their trainman session. They will start their practice from 9th March onwards whereas some of the players of Royal Challengers Bangalore has also reached in their camp to start the practice session respectively.
There will be a total of 11 double headers where 6 teams will play three afternoon matches & two teams will play two afternoon matches. The afternoon games are slated for a 3:30 PM IST start while the evening games will have a 7:30 PM IST start.
Each team is set to play at four venues during the league stage. Out of the 56 league matches, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata & Bengaluru will host 10 matches each while Ahmedabad and Delhi will host 8 matches each. One of the highlights of this edition of the VIVO IPL will be the fact that all matches will be played at neutral venues, no team will play at their home venue. All teams will play at 4 out of 6 venues during the league stage.
