Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the ongoing home red ball series against England. It will be the saddest news for the Indian cricket fraternity as absence of a star all rounder will definitely effect them a lot. He was sustained a thumb dislocation while playing the third Test that is Sydney Test against Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
After sustaining the injury he was immediately sent to National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore for the actual procedure regarding his recovering approach for the thumb.
Due to this injury he was initially not picked for the first two test matches against England and was thought that he might be available for the last two test matches.
His presence was vital for team as the World Cup Defending Champions are pretty good side and for this an experience player is must for the hosts.
It was earlier considered that if Jadeja recovers then he should be acknowledged to be quarantined as soon as possible to make him available for the Ahmedabad Test.
But destiny had something else to write for the Indian camp as reports came from Cricbuzz suggested that the recovery of thumb dislocation might take a long time. Even it is also came to the reports that his presence in the white ball series against England is also in pale situation.
Absence of Ravindra Jadeja and under performance by Shahbaz Nadeem in the first Chennai Test might bring Kuldeep Yadav to the playing XI for second test as it was hinted by skipper Virat Kohli during post match presentation.
“There are no regrets whatsoever on that decision. Moving forward, we will think of the combinations which bring us variety of bowling attack, and not one dimensional, turning away from the bat” quoted by Virat Kohli
Kuldeep Yadav hasn’t played red ball match since two years even he had only got 5 match chance in the IPL-2020 and just couple of games in the Australian tour as well.
