The concluded season of IPL will be definitely a nightmare for the Chennai Super Kings as they has finally lost the streak of regularly entering into the playoffs. With this devastating edition, Chennai will look to build the team for more strengthening. As right now team has released quite few players whose performance was below expectations and with their release, franchise has now left out with 22.9 Cr in their kitty.
The most important point here to be noted that Yellow Army has only one spot for the overseas player which can be left for that player who can create a great impact for the franchise.
There are five players who can be listed out there:
1] Glenn Maxwell
He has very disappointing season in the last edition with scoring just 108 runs in 13 matches for Kings XI Punjab, thus making him released from the franchise. But his comeback towards international cricket against India was more interesting as he was seen back again as that dangerous batsman. So with this kind of form, Chennai Super Kings will think to bid on him.
2] Steve Smith
Rajasthan Royals skipper Steven Smith has been released from the franchise due to his disappointing performance in IPL-2020 and now Sanju Samson will lead the side. With his names on the auction list, Chennai would rope him due to his immense experience in the IPL format as well as in the international genre. His presence can strengthen teams middle order.
3] Chris Morris
His release was the unexpected one which was took by Royal Challengers Bangalore. His all rounder performance by registering 34 runs and taking 11 wickets for RCB. If Chennai shows interest in him then, the team will get more depth in the batting line-up as well as one of the best death specialists in the franchise.
4] Mitchell Starc
He will the limelight player for the auction and with his pick, Chennai can create a lethal attack in the bowling department which was lacking in the previous edition. Even Aakash Chopra also predicts that he can be the expensive bid in the auction. Starc’s selection can make more stronger bowling department for Chennai along with Deepak Chahar.
5] Dawid Malan
The World’s No.1 T20 batsman will also be their in the limelight for the auction, as his tremendous records in T20 with blistering 855 runs in just 19 matches can be an asset for the Yellow Army.
