Australia pace bowler Josh Hazlewood has removed from the impending 2021 Indian Premier League. The speed bowler has been a piece of various bio-secure air protocols from August 2020 to January this year. With a bustling global season coming up, the accomplished cricketer needs to give himself “the most obvious opportunity to be intellectually and actually prepared”.
Josh Hazlewood, who played three counterparts for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2020, was required to go to India on April 1 to connect up with the establishment.
“It’s been a long 10 months in bubbles and quarantine at different times, so I decided to have a rest from cricket and spend some time at home and in Australia in the next two months,” quoted by Josh Hazlewood to cricket.com.au.
“We’ve got a big winter ahead too. The West Indies is going to be a long tour, with Bangladesh (T20 tour) potentially thrown on the end of that. Then potentially the T20 WC leading into the Ashes, so it’s a big 12 months, as it always is with Australia, and I want to give myself the best chance to be mentally and physically ready for that. That’s the decision I’ve made, and it sits pretty well with me,” added by Hazlewood .
This will be a big concern for Chennai Super Kings Camp as with his absence bowling unit now looks more pale and seamers like Hazlewood is worth watching ones.
Now total of three Australians players had decided to skip the 14th edition of IPL and that are Josh Philippe from Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mitchell Marsh from Sunrisers Hyderabad and now Josh Hazlewood from Chennai Super Kings.
IPL-2021 will commence from 9th April 2021 with opening game between Defending Champions Mumbai Indians taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore.
