With just a few days left for the 13th edition of the #Dream11 IPL 2020, the IPL extravaganza fever is high on the minds. While players are busy in getting their preparations right before the tournament, Game experts and analysts are out with different kind of predictions and XIs.
Even before the action could begin, Brad Hogg, the veteran china-man bowler from Australia, has announced best XI of tournament. Along with the XI, the veteran bowler also made prediction about the teams’ position in points table after the tournament.
The 49-year old, who represented Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders in his IPL career, has included 5 proper batsmen, 3 all- rounders and 3 proper bowlers in the team.
He has chosen David Warner along with Rohit Sharma to open the innings in his XI. While Warner holds most number of purple caps in the IPL, his partner Rohit Sharma has been one of the highest run getters in the history of the tournament and most successful captain of the league also.
Virat Kohli walks in at no. three in this eleven also for his staggering average and consistency. He is the man with highest runs in the history of the tournament, with 5412 in 177 games at a strike-rate of 131.61.
At No.4 Hogg has thrown in a surprise by picking up Kane Williamson in his IPL XI. And to greater surprise, he has named him captain of the IPL XI despite having the likes of Rohit Sharma, David Warner in team. Although, Kane Williamson’s record as captain in IPL is not bad at all. Kane Williamson, undoubtedly, led SRH from the front in Warner’s absence in IPL 2018. And that year, he guided SRH to the finals of tournament. With 735 runs from bat, he was also the highest run-getter in that edition.
Hogg has made another bold choice at No.5 by picking Rishabh Pant ahead of MS Dhoni. Pant has been Delhi Capital’s poster boy of IPL for 3-4 years now. He will also don the gloves.
Andre Russell, Ravindra Jadeja and Sunil Narine are the two all-rounders in Hogg’s XI. While Russell’s exploits are none to other, Narine and Jadeja might provide an edge on slow tracks of the UAE. Both of them can be handy with the bat as well. In bowling, Hogg has gone with Indian troika of YuzuvendraChahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.
