Sunrise Hyderabad has lost their last match against Kolkata knight Riders in the super over. In this match David Warner came to bat at number five while Kane Williamson opened the inning with Jonny Bairstow.
SRH bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan revealed why Kane Williamson to open the inning instead of David Warner. “We decided to (open with him) because of the injury,” he said post the game. “He was finding it difficult to run 2s and 3s. We thought this was the best opportunity, because he is playing really well, to use him in the powerplay, give us a good total so that it’s easier for us to win. He did his job but at the end of the day it was a tied match and it happens in T20. We tried hard but nothing went our way.”
Hyderabad skipper David Warner in the post-match conference gave injury update and said that Williamson will hopefully recover with some physiotherapy. “He’s (Williamson) got a niggle near the top end of the adductors, so hopefully he gets some physio treatment in the next couple of days and comes up for our next game,” he said.
It’s looking that Kane Williamson struggled with a hamstring niggle against KKR, and will most likely have to sit out of the clash against RR, Today. West Indian all-Rounder Jason Holder may replace him in the playing XI. Because he gives depth in the batting while adding extra seem bowling option. Mohammed Nabi will also a good option to replace Kane Williamson in the playing XI.
Today’s match is do or die clash for both of team. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals are standing at eight and seventh position in the points table respectively.
