Kolkata Knight Riders signed Star New Zealand Player for the remainder of IPL 2021


With just few days are left out for the second phase of IPL-2021, each and every franchises are looking forward to strengthen the team. As right now mid of the tournament has been covered out while the half is yet remaining which can turn around the tables as well.

Due to the coronavirus scare tournament was abandoned which affected few players to take their name back. Some are citing personal reasons and others with subsequent reasons.

Bio-bubble environment has been tough for the players and may be this could be the actual reason behind quitting the league. So with this call most of the franchise are searching for the replacements to cover up their spot and the same Kolkata Knight Riders are gone through with their core player who has taken his name back from the tournament.


Kolkata Knight Riders have joined Tim Southee for the leftover 31 rounds of the Indian Premier League (IPL). An establishment source has affirmed the marking of the New Zealand pacer to Cricbuzz on Thursday (August 26).

Southee, naturally, comes instead of Pat Cummins who has pulled out of the IPL second leg referring to individual reasons.

Having highlighted in the IPL for six continuous years, Southee went unsold in the 2020 sale. His latest appearance came in the 2019 version when he turned up for RCB, getting done with an economy pace of 13 in the three games he played.

From this stage, the journey of KKR is truly crucial as they are at 7th position of the points table with only two wins from seven matches. To sustain their presence towards playoffs has almost been tough but to keep them in the competition now they have to win each and every match with better net run rate.
