Lasith Malinga announced his retirement from international cricket

Lasith Malinga is a professional fast bowler of Sri Lanka and currently he is also the captain of ODI and T20 cricket team of Sri Lanka. He is right-arm fast medium bowler. He is also considered as one of the greatest limited-overs bowlers of all time. Lasith Malinga earlier announced his retirement from ODI and said that world cup 2019 is the last World Cup my ODI cricket. Now he announced his retirement from T-20i cricket also.

In a recent interview he said that T-20 world cup 2020 is the last tournament of my T-20i career. So after 2020 T-20i world Lasith Malinga will not play any international matches because he already announced the retirement from Test Cricket and ODI. He is called as the Yorker king of the cricket. His bowling action is too different from other bowlers. His delivery action is similar to slinging.

T-20I career of Lasith Malinga

Lasith Malinga made his T-20 debut in 2006 against England. He has played 72 T-20i matches and took 97 wickets with an Average of 19.29 and with the economy of 7.26. His best performance in T-20i is 5/31.In ongoing series against South Africa, he leads the team and that’s why he will not playing in starting few matches of IPL 2019.  He leads the Sri-Lanka team in ODI and T-20i from 2014. In 2014 T-20i world cup Sri-Lanka won the Trophy in his captaincy.

ODI career of Lasith Malinga

Lasith Malinga made debut in 2004 against UAE. He played 218 matches and picked 322 wickets with an Average of 29.03 and with the economy of 6.34. Best performance of his carrier is 6/38. He is only player who have taken three hat-tricks in ODI. He will lead the Sri-Lanka team in world cup 2019 which will kick off from May, 2019.

Test career of Lasith Malinga

In test cricket he made his debut in 2004 against Australia. He played his last test cricket match in 2010 against India. He played total 30 test matches and took 101 wickets with Average of 33.16 and his best performance is 9/210. In test he has picked 3 times the 5 wicket haul.In last decade he has the main fast bowler of Sri-Lanka. In 2007 ICC World Cup he took 4 consecutive wickets and made a history in cricket.
