Lasith malinga is back in IPL

Lasith Malinga is a right-arm medium-fast bowler of Sri Lanka. He is a specialist death bowler and his sling action is very different from other bowlers. Recently cricket he is the captain of Sri Lanka cricket team in limited overs. Malinga is the most important player for Mumbai Indians. His experience is valuable in death bowling. In every season of IPL he is a part of MI and last year he was the mentor of MI. He is the highest wicket taker bowler in the IPL history.

Earlier Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board declared that any player of Sri Lanka who wants to play in world cup will have to participate in super provincial One Day domestic tournament. The domestic tournament will be starting from April first half.  Recently Malinga became the captain of ODI and T-20i team of Sri Lanka. According to ESPNcricinfo Malinga will be available for next two matches of IPL 2019. These two matches are against RCB & KXIP on March 28 and March 30 respectively. After playing theses two matches he will return Sri Lanka to play the Domestic tournament.

According to ESPNcricinfo BCCI convene Sri Lanka Cricket Board on Malinga’s playing issue in IPL. After BCCI’s request SLC changed his stance and allowed him to play next two matches of IPL.

“Anyway he has been one of our best bowlers in one dayers, so there’s no question about his place in the team.” said Ashantha De Mel, Sri Lnaka’s chief selector.

“We have no issues if he goes to IPL – the board had given him a no-objection certificate already, so he’s free to go. Anyway he has been one of our best bowlers in one-d our best bowlers in one-dayers, so there’s no question about his place in team.” – Mel completed.
