Massive injury blow to RCB : Dale Steyn injured

RCB lost its 6 out of 7 starting matches in IPL 2019. At one stage it was looking as RCB will not qualify in play-offs this time but after Dale steyn entry in playing XI they have consecutively won 3 matches, defeating some of the strongest team of IPL 2019. Dale Steyn presence in RCB camp has boosted morale of all other players in camp. Now, there is a very bad news for RCB as Dale steyn has got injured and will not be available for rest of matches.

Sanjeev Churiwala, Chairman of RCB said

“Dale Steyn has been prescribed with ample rest due to inflammation in his shoulder. On account of state of his health, Dale will not be available to take part further in the ongoing season of IPL. His presence has helped the team immensely and we are very thankful for the inspiration and passion that he brought to the squad. The team will deeply miss his energy and presence around. We wish him a speedy recovery and all the luck for all future endeavours.”

South Africa’s team manager, Dr Mohammed Moosajee said that the pacer needs to get on the recovery process at the earliest as he is a part of South African squad in ICC world cup 2019 going to be held in next month in England and Wales. He said “Dale felt discomfort after playing his second match at the tournament. Upon assessment and subsequent investigations, a flare-up of his right shoulder was confirmed. With the World Cup around the corner, it is our priority to get him back to full fitness before the squad departs on May 19th. He will consult with a shoulder specialist upon his return and a recovery plan will be put in place.”

In last few matches a hope was created in RCB camp to qualify in play-offs. That was due to larger than life entry of Dale Steyn. RCB won both the matches Steyn played for them as he took two wickets each against Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. His presence in camp was very effective in boosting the confidence of other players.

It is a very bad news for RCB as already Moen Ali will be leaving the RCB camp and will return to his home country for ICC world cup 2019 preparations. With absence of Dale Steyn and Moeen Ali, RCB bowling department is looking very weak.
