The #Dream11 IPL 2020 has been a thrill to watch so far. Almost half of action is done and dusted. In 24 days of the action, we have had two super overs, few exciting chases, a lot of hitting, a couple of Tewatia specials, KKR pulling off heist, Delhi Capitals showing promise, KXIP failing to close out games and Mumbai Indians uncharacteristically topping the table mid-way in tournament.

Two of the most balance squads – Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are sitting at top of table with net run-rate separating them. Yesterday after Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals in Abu Dhabi, a tweet from MI’s official handle has sparked controversy with some serious allegations.

In a beautiful evening of Abu Dhabi, Delhi Captain Shreyas Iyer elected to bat first after winning the toss. Delhi also made a couple of forced changes as their premier wicketkeeper and star batsman Rishabh Pant missed out due to the injury, he suffered in previous match.

In order to accommodate Alex Carey – the other wicketkeeper in DC setup, Delhi Capital also ousted Shimron Hetmyer and bring in Ajinkya Rahane to balance the team combinations. Two players in Rahane and Carey instead of Pant and Hetmyer meant DC now have less firepower in batting order.

That clearly reflected in their batting as they could only manage 162-4 runs in 20 overs. Interestingly, after Delhi Capitals entered to bat in first innings, Mumbai Indians posted a tweet in the second over of the match. At the end of 20 overs, the tweet perfectly matched the outcome of first innings and immediately, fans started terming IPL as a fixed affair.

Although MI official handle deleted the tweet after some time, the screen shot went viral and people started to troll and term IPL as a fixed tournament. The voices have also risen in past, when Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings won titles by narrow margins. But this tweet from MI is sure to elicit answers from officials.

Here’s the tweet:

As far as match is concerned, Mumbai Indians’ strong batting order chased down the target in last over to register 5th win of the season.
