With the rise of limited overs cricket in the form of One-day internationals and T20, the modern Cricket has changed a lot. These formats have changed the complexion of the games with batsmen becoming more dangerous, bowlers becoming cleverer, fitness becoming more important and fielding becoming one of the most required skillsets.
In the modern Cricket fitness is becoming as important for selection as anything. A fit player can play, field better than his counterparts. Fit players like Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, Ben Stokes, Kane Williamson play an important role while fielding in the outfield.
With Cricket slowly returning to the field all across the world, Pakistan Cricket Board posted a video of brilliant catching on its official Twitter handle recently. In the ongoing National T20 Cup, captaining his team Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohammad Rizwan took a brilliant catch in a breath-taking contest against Sindh.
Batting first Khyber Pakhtunkhwa posted 138 runs in 20 overs with the help of some quickfire innings from Musadiq Ahmed (25 runs of 14 balls) and Usman Shinwari (36 runs in 15 balls) Mohammad Rizwan, though, didn’t impressed with the bat in first innings, he pulled off a stunner in second innings.
Anwar Ali, Sindh batsman, who was holding one end in a short chase of 139 runs, was looking all set to take the game deep before Rizwan put in a superman like effort to cut short his innings. Anwar Ali made 33 runs in 32 balls before getting out to Musadiq Ahmed and superman Rizwan.
However, Rizwan couldn’t win his team the game as Sindh won the match by two wickets in the last ball of the match. But the brilliant catch by Rizwan was acknowledged and appreciated by everyone. Some of them even termed it ‘Catch of the year.’
