MI has played 10 matches so far in IPL 2019 and has won 6 matches out of them. They are at 3rd position in points table with 12 points. They lost their last match against RR. Now MI will play against CSK on 26th after having a gap of 6 days. They will face CSK second time in IPL 2019. In their first encounter MI defeated CSK.
As we reported earlier, that Alzarri Joseph has got injured after he injured his bowling right arm. MI was keen to find his replacement. Joseph himself was a replacement for New Zealand’s Adam Milne, who himself suffered injury before the tournament. Joseph has a tear in his bowling arm, which got dislocated while he made a diving effort during the match versus RR.
Now, MI has announced Alzarri Joseph replacement as Beuran Hendricks. He has played two ODIs and 10 T20Is for South Africa so far. He has taken 16 wickets in T20 with best of 4-14 and economy of 8.87. Beuran Hendricks has played IPL before for KXIP. He played 7 matches took 9 wickets with a best of 3-36 and economy of 9.36.
Alzarri Joseph picked an IPL all-time best bowling figures of 6/12 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in his debut match. But after that match he has been very expensive and has not taken any wicket also. In his last match before getting injured, he gave away 53 runs in just 3 overs with high economy of 17.66.
MI already has two world class spinners Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga. With Beuran Hendricks entry MI bowling attack is looking stronger. In batting, Quinton de Kock and Hardik pandya are performing well for MI. Hardik Pandya has played some good cameos as finisher. But one concern for MI is their skipper Rohit Sharma form. He is not performing well consistently.
