Last few days have been quite eventful for Suryakumar Yadav. After he got snubbed from National team callup on Monday, the 30-year old played a wonderful knock of 79 runs in a high voltage clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Playing against Indian skipper Virat Kohli-led side, Suryakumar Yadav played one hell of a knock to guide Mumbai Indians to a victory.
Chasing a target of 165 runs, Mumbai Indians managed to keep up the tempo with required run rate. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav anchored well in the chase. The clash between table toppers also produced some intense moments as Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli had a heated moment in the 13th over of the chase.
On the last bowl of the over, Suryakumar Yadav smashed the ball right to RCB skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli collected the ball and have a go at Yadav while staring at him. Yadav was well inside the crease and a stare from Indian captain didn’t amuse SKY as he also walked towards Kohli before backing out at last moment.
After SKY won the match for MI, MI social media handle posted a pic of both Virat and Yadav staring each other with a caption: “He came. He saw stared. He conquered.”
Though these incidents are common in matches, the incident got viral on social media particularly when the right-hander was omitted from National team recently. Suryakumar Yadav was expected to get a call from Indian National team for Australia tour but somehow selectors managed to ignore him.
The dashing right-hander from Mumbai is one of the most prolific run-getters in domestic cricket in past three years. He also has impressive numbers for three successive seasons playing for Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League.
In this IPL also, he has shown that he has got temperament and courage to handle tough situations. Suryakumar Yadav is the second-leading run-scorer for Mumbai Indians in this season with 362 runs from 12 games at an average of 40.22.
