Former Indian Player and Mr. IPL Suresh Raina has decided to opt himself out from the entire Indian Premier League 2020 due to personal reason. He has taken this decision after some of Chennai Super Kings players have been tested COVID-19 Positive. After this decision Suresh Raina said that Nothing is more important than kids.
Suresh Raina has played most number of IPL match and also the second highest run-score in the history of the Indian Premier League With 5368 runs, only behind Virat Kohli’s tally of 5412.
Now CSK fans want to know that who will replace Suresh Raina in the team for the IPL 2020.
Speaking to Outlook, Franchise owner N Srinivasan said Suresh Raina’s exit is good news for Ruturaj Gaikwad. Srinivasan also backed the youngster to become the star of the show for the franchise this season.

“He is an outstanding batsman and will get a chance now. Ruturaj can become the star of the show, who knows?” said former BCCI Chairman and Franchise N Srinivasan.
But Ruturaj Gaikwad is one of the two members who have been tested COVID-19 Positive along with Deepak Chahar. He hasn’t made his IPL debut so far. So he has a great chance to show his ability in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2020.
He scored 365 runs with an average of 45.62 in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018/19 and the highest run-scorer for Maharashtra. In 2018/19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Ruturaj Gaikwad finished as the second highest run-score with 419 at an average of 42 and a strike rate of 146.
Chennai Super kings haven’t announced any replacement of Suresh Raina for the Upcoming season of the Indian Premier League officially. But it’s expected that they will announce Suresh Raina’s replacement soon.
